BUSTER MOORE CHARITY CUP

Sunday 13th August 2017

What an amazing day with great weather and superb support for the eighteen teams who come and played in this event.

Many thanks to Haverhill Town Club's Green Keepers who worked tirelessly before the event started , and also the refreshments Team , as all through the day they supplied food and drink to meet  everyone's individual needs and Pryce at the bar was just brilliant too.

Every player joined in the Spider which had a bottle of whisky donated by Brian  Moore , Chairman won by Mick Mayo ( Clare BC) ..£52 was raised from the Spider !

Big thank you to Richard Young and Geoff Mann for managing the raffle which brought in £270! Everyone was so generous.

Ken Follett organised the day into one League with Teams playing three matches of six ends and the top four going through to the semi finals. There were some surprising results and great bowling.

Just before the semi finals Clive Stewart Treasurer presented a cheque for £480 to Haverhill Town Bowls Club for their chosen charity East Anglian Air Ambulance. The League shared 50% of the profit on the day and received £475.

The semi Finals saw two teams from Clare BC having to play each other and the other semi final Birdbrook played Cavendish..which had to go to a seventh end as the score was 3-3.

The Final had Clare BC ( Mel Wiseman, Roger Crocombe and Pat Crocombe) come out on top with a 7-2 win against Cavendish ( Brian Stack,Vernon Lever and Annette Williamott)

The day ended with the presentation of the Charity Cup to Clare BC. with various gifts from our sponsor Peasgood & Skeates and cash of £100.

The League Management Committee would like to thank EVERY Club who did support this day it was very much appreciated!
